Black Dog Easy Evenings with 4 world-renowned guitarists is being held in 5 cities, having kicked off its maiden performance in India from the national capital Delhi and moved through to Pune, Mumbai and Bangalore before ending in Hyderabad on 14th November.
Frank Wingold (jazz), Eric Vaarzon Morel (flamenco), Dave Goodman (blues) and Dylan Fowler (finger-picking) are the 4 guitarists performing live.
The evening will begin with Frank Wingold playing 2 solo jazz pieces, followed by Dave Goodman taking the audience through an array of emotions with ballads and blues with both funny and moving stories in between. Frank and Dave will perform together next.
Then, Fowler will play 2 pieces, and will also talk about his finger-picking style. The evening will continue with Eric Vaarzon Morel joining Dylan on stage with his explicit flamenco pieces. The highlight of the show is expected to be when all the 4 guitar players perform together.
Frank is from Germany, and studied Jazz and Classical Guitar from 1988 till 1993 at the renowned Amsterdam School Of The Arts in The Netherlands. His influences are the classical guitar-repertoire of the 20th century, jazz and improvised music, the rock history, electronic music and the music of Eastern Europe and the Orient.
Eric Vaarzon Morel
Eric was was only 16 when he studied under Paco Pena, at the 7e Rencontre De La Guitare in France. In the 1980s, he travelled through Europe with the Swiss group Flamencos En Route. Playing his own flamenco compositions, he has toured annually with his back-up group Chanela.
Guitarist, singer and songwriter, Dave was born in Victoria BC, Canada, on 28th March, 1965. During his years with Mesa, he designed The Revolver, a rotating speaker system for the guitar. Boogie licenced the speaker from him, and put it into production in 1995. Carlos Santana bought the first 2 that Dave delivered to him personally.
Dylan has been a professional musician now for close on 30 years and in that time, he has been active in many areas of music as a performer, composer and arranger. This year, he will be touring France as part of the International Guitar Night tour.
