SICA's 46th Annual Art Festival brings to you today, Urmila Satyanarayana's exquisite prowess with her limbs in Bharatanatyam. She is considered the perfect combination of face, figure and talent.
Ranked as one of the topmost dancers in India, she recieved her initial training itself from such reknowned artists that her fame was a foregone conclusion. Padmashree Dandayutha Pani Pillai, followed by Kalaimamani K J Sarasa taught her in the initial years. She also recieved special guidance from Padmabhushan Kalanidhi Narayanan.
Natya Sankalpa is Urmila's institute where she reaches out to coach the next generation.She has won numerous awards - National Eminence Award by Mumbai Shanmukhananda Sabha, Natya Navarasi, Tamil Sangam, Toronto, Kalaimamamni by Govt. Of TN, Yuva Kala Bharati by Bharat Kalachar, Chennai.
Panchali Sapatham, Women: Past, Present and Future, Annamacharya and Swathi Tirunal are among the thematic presentations she has performed.
