There are 2 ways to really enjoy a cool and pleasant evening. Being in Shilparamam is one of them. Fortunately this Sunday, the other is also right there.
As part of weekly program of classical dance, Shilparamam is organising a Bharatanatyam dance recital by Pramod Kumar Reddy, this Sunday. Kumar will start the recital with a Pushpanjali, followed by Simhavahini Varnam, Annamacharya's Padaharu, and finally Dhanashree Tillana. He will be supported by Gupta Sisters with the vocals, Sweta Renuka Prasad with the nattuvangam, Nageshwara Rao on the mridangam and the special effects, and Suresh with the make-up.
Kumar learnt Bharatanatyam in Ahmedabad for 10 years, under the tutelage of Radha Menon and Bhaskar Menon. He has completed a certificate course in dance from the Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University. Currently he is a disciple of Chitra Narayanan, and works as a scientist in a clinical research company. A highly dedicated and devoted dancer, he shuffles his time efficiently between his dance, his profession, and his teaching at the Abhinetri Arts Academy.
Abhinetri Arts Academy is a non-profit institution, where is dance is taught to needy middle class aspirants. It was established in 2003 at Seetaphalmandi, by the dance-loving group of Pramod Kumar. There are about 75 students learning in this institution from Kumar, who is a also a good choreographer. He is debuting with his choreographed dance item in August this year at the Ravindra Bharathi.
