Bally Sagoo, the Godfather of Bhangra, is set to scorch the chilling nite at Treasure Island this Saturday. He will be performing some Asian musical and Bollywood remixes, especially bhangra. Along with him, as usual, are the army of the inhouse DJs - DJ Russell, DJ Murthy, DJ Umar, DJ Zack and Visual Madness DJ Rishi - spinning some hot international tracks in between.
Born in New Delhi and raised in Birmingham, Bally Sagoo (Baljit Singh Sagoo) grew up listening to the music of his time - Hip-Hop, Reggae and Top 40. From the tender age of 10, Sagoo got a taste for making music, and started producing tunes from his modest bedroom which is now renowned Currywood Studios.
Constantly in demand, he receives requests from a plethora of Hollywood and Bollywood directors; he most recently produced music for international hits like Bend it Like Beckham and Monsoon Wedding, and Bollywood films Kartoos, Hera Pheri, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The future looks bright for him, with a possible biopic, a slick nightclub and a clothing label - people cannot seem to get enough of the Bally Sagoo name.
The blast starts at 9pm and may wind up by 3am. So tighten your jackets and shake a leg to the bhangra beats. Entry tickets are priced at Rs. 750 for a couple and Rs. 500 for a stag, available at the PVR Cinemas and Music World outlets. Please contact 99490-62727/98852-24000 for further details.
