Baisakhi, the harvest festival of Punjab, is one of the important festivities of the green state, and is about fun, frolic and food. Joining in with the celebrations, Green Park is organizing the Baisakhi Food Festival from 11th to 14th April, at its multi-cuisine restaurant Once Upon A Time.
Punjabi food-lovers of the twin cities will be able to feast on an unlimited array of lip-smacking dishes created by the executive chef Thangappan and his expert team. The names include Murgh Makhan Palak, Tandoori Chicken, Machli Amritsari, Keema Matar, Gosht Khada Masala, Tariwala Kukad, Sarson Ka Saag, Dal Makhani, Aloo Chaat, Channa Chaat, Choley Bhature, Makke Ki Roti with Gud & White Butter and Malai Da Lassi.
For the sweet-toothed, there are mouth-melting desserts such as Gajar Ka Halwa, Ganne Ka Kheer, Moong Dal Halwa, Phirni, Imarti and Malpua. The ambience and the interiors are done up in a village theme, with a bullock cart, a well, huts and so on. The music too is in the same palette - foot-tapping Punjabi folk songs to suit the ambience and the theme.
