Alapana brings more significance to the numeral 11 than any Biblical mythology could ever manage. In association with the Delhi Telugu Academy, it is organising a musical evening to celeberate its 11th anniversary. The entire program will last for 112 minutes at the Thyagaraja Gana sabha. And since, it is the 9th of the second month of the year, the date also adds up to that magic number. The program will start at 6:05, another carefully calculated little figure.
The singers who will be present are N V L nagaraju, Vinod Babu, Sriram Kaushik, Vijayalakshmi, Ramana Vogeti, Siva Kakani, Srikant, Guruswami, Snehalata, L. Venkateshwarulu, Saviyasaachi, Mekala Narayana. The organiser Ms. Aruna Subbarao will also perform with a dance troupe of ten behind her.
Two artists will be felicitated with the Bala Sahitya Siromani award on this occasion, the first being C H Venkatraman who has won 11 Nandi awards for film direction. The second is Acharya Chakravartula.
The guests who will grace this eleven studded evening are C C Reddy, Dr. C Narayana Reddy, Tanikella Bharani, Devaraju Ravi, M Subhash Reddy and S Giri Rao.
