Having trained from the age of six in Bharathanatyam - the popular classical dance form of South India which embodies beauty, charm and grace - Lavanya Govindarajan is ready for her Arangetram. She has been the disciple of Smt. Hemamalini Arni who has honed her artistic temperament to perfection.
Lavanya has been a part of various ballets staged by her Guru and has also performed in several musical concerts.
The Chief Guest for the evening is Dr. Nookala Chinna Satyanarayana. The Arangetram starts with a prayer in Ragam Hamsadhwani and in Adi Talam to Lord Vinayaka, seeking his blessings. This is followed by three shlokas worshipping various Hindu goddesses. After appeasing the gods, the program moves on to the Allaripu.
Next is a pada varnam which is the main item of the evening and showcases the expertise of the dancer in both Nritha and Abhinaya. The concluding item is a Thillana.
