Born from a sword, but lived for the music - Annamacharya again makes ripples in the melody circles.
The Department Of Culture and Annamacharya Bhavan Vahini, Hyderabad, are jointly organizing the Annamacharya Jayanthotsavam. "Nitya Santoshini" Dr. Shobha Raju, the famous singer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, Tirumala, will lead Nagara Sankeerthana from Annamacharya Puram, Madhapur, to the Saint Annamcharya Statue at the Tank Bund.
Later she will present Saint Annamacharya Sangeetha Vibhavari at the Ravindra Bharathi from 10.00am onwards. There will also be a musical contest on Annamacharya Sankeerthanas, between 11.00am and 5.00pm. The participants will be categorized into the following:
(a) Less than 12 years (b) Between 12 and 30 years (c) Thirty years and above.
Each participant will be given 5 minutes to render one Annamacharya Keerthana. All the winners will be felicitated in the evening with certificates and momentos.
In the evening, Shri Nedunuri Krishnamurthy, eminent vocalist, will be rendering Annamcharya Sankeerthanas from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. The Department Of Culture will be felicitating Krishnamurty on the occassion.
