A gangster who gets panic attacks is never good news. Then again, a psychiatrist who treats panic attacks of any kind is probably way beyond believing in good news.
Creaking Projectors, in association with Seagrams 100 Pipers, is presenting "You Talking To Me", a series of film screenings of Robert De Niro, from 22nd August to 12th September, at Taj Deccan. As part of this series, "Analyze This" will be screened on 5th September.
Analyze This is a 1999 gangster comedy film directed by Harold Ramis, who co-wrote the screenplay with playwright Kenneth Lonergan and Peter Tolan. The film stars Robert De Niro as a mafioso, and Billy Crystal as a psychiatrist. A sequel, Analyze That, was released in 2002.
The movie is about a don, Paul Vitti (Robert de Niro), who gets panic attacks. One of his henchman suggests that he meet up with a shrink named Ben Sobel (Billy Crystal).
Ben asks a few insightful questions, and treats Vitti. The don is so impressed that he follows Ben all the way to Florida for another session, right into Ben's wedding. His wedding-day is undone, and Ben is exasperated by Vitti's assertiveness.
Nevertheless, he treats Vitti and reschedules his wedding. In the meantime, he gets photographed by the CIA, who want Ben to report to them about Vitti's moves.
