REVIEW FOR AN EXHIBITION OF PAINTINGS BY LOKENDER GOUD
Lokender Goud is an interesting artist. What makes him interesting is that in a field populated by ‘interesting’ people, he thinks uncomplicated and draws uncomplicated. His painting style is called Realism. And in his words, ‘you do not need words to understand my paintings’. They are self-explanatory, realistic, unconstrained depictions of nature.
He uses the medium of oil-over-canvass. The beauty of it is that while it takes about 30 days to dry fully, it lasts around 150 years. Most paintings in Salarjung museum use this medium. Lokender Goud has studies painting at the school of the famous TV Srinivas of the old city, known for its rigorous teaching methods.
