Samaikhya Bharathi is organising a 2-day dance festival on 5th & 6th November, at the Ravindra Bharati auditorium. Renowned Kuchipudi dancers like Swapna Sundari, Dr. Alekhya Punjla, Maddali Usha Gayathri and K V Satyanarayana will be performing with their students.
Today, the last day, K V Satyanarayana and his group of disciples will perform a Kuchipudi dance ballet - Amukta Malyada. Amukta Malyada was written by Srikrishna Devaraya of the Vijayanagar dynasty, and is actually more of an epic poem about the life of Godaa Devi (Andal), and her marriage to Lord Ranganatha of Srirangam. She actually speaks in a lot of the verses, talking throughout much of the poem, through the words of Srikrishna Devaraya.
