It takes a lot of courage and a big heart to forget one's own sorrow and extend
a helping hand to others who need and deserve it. And it is events like these
that keep our belief in humanity alive.
Sri Vaishnava Seva Samstha, along with Vooyala Communications, is organizing the Sangeetha Memorial Awards today. Sangeetha, a magician, died at a very young age, and her father, Dr J L Chary, in loving memory of his daughter, is giving away these awards to prominent personalities who are striving hard and bringing fame to their professions. This award presentation started in 1999, and since then Dr Chary has identified and given away awards to, a number of personalities from various domain.
This year five famous personalities have been chosen for the awards, and they are Dr Santanam, Suryapet; Acchi Gopala Charyulu, vedic scholar; R L Raju, magician; Mudigonda Gopi Krishna, numerologist; and Mallem Ramesh, a stage artist from Khammam.
Cultural events will follow the awards ceremony. The Best Lady Magician award winner, Viswa Vinootna, and her husband Chaitanya Praveen, will perform a "Beautiful Magic Show". Dance by Neha, mimicry by Kottapalli Laxmi and Mallem Ramesh, and songs by Swarakinnera Vinnakota Revathi will also feature in the evening's program.
