PREVIEW FOR 12TH INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S FILM FESTIVAL
The only thing worse than needing parental guidance for everything spelling f-u-n
is not being able to have fun at all, and here's a week's bonanza when you'll
have to be in school. Can you believe that? 76 films just for kids in 1 week,
and you have to be in a state of learning since it's in school time. Who made
these children's societies?
The Children's Film Society of India is organizing the 12th International Children's Film Festival for children, and the Chief Minister will inaugurate the festival at the Lalitha Kala Thoranam on a day coinciding with the Children's Day as well as with Diwali.
About 162 films from 41 countries will be screened at 10 selected theaters apart from at Lalitha Kala Thoranam. 74 films will be in the competitive section, and 19 of these will be feature films, 55 will be short films, and 1 will be an animation film.
12 feature films will be screened in the Asian Panorama, 1 of which will receive a special award. In the Children's World category, a non-competitive section, 76 films will be screened, of which 13 will be feature films and 63 will be short and animation films.
The Children's Film Society of India in association with UNICEF will organize
a 3-day seminar from the 17th to the 19th, the theme of which will be "Right Of
The Child To Entertainment". Movie names and schedules will be released by the
